In this class with artist Margaret Nomentana, we will look at, learn about, and make portraits. The class will have a two-pronged approach; on Thursday nights, through reading, we will learn about and discuss some of the ways that artists throughout history have approached portraiture. On Saturday mornings, we will create our own portraits, using a variety of art media including painting and photography. We will study artists such as Lucian Freud, Alice Neel, Diane Arbus, and others. The class is open to artists of beginner and intermediate ability levels.
To find out more about this class, please join Margaret for an introduction at the library on September 29, at 7pm.
