Page Turners, the Monday afternoon book group hosted by CHML, continues its discovery of classics old and new.
The February 10th title will be Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass (1845) by Frederick Douglass. More than just a memoir, Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass captures his life as a slave in Lynn, Massachusetts in vivid detail and is considered to be one of the works that fueled the abolitionist movement.
Upcoming titles:
March: Harriet Jacobs, Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl (1861)
April: Octavia Butler, Kindred (1979)
May: Angie Thomas, The Hate U Give (2017)
June: Jane Austen, Emma (1815)
The Page Turners is welcome to everyone, and we select books by consensus! If you’d like to join the group’s email list to receive notifications of meetings and questions to consider in advance, please contact discussion leader Sue Lanser: lanser@brandeis.edu.
