Hobbs Story Swap Goes “Hybrid” on May 17! At last, at long, long last, our storytellers will have the chance – if they wish – to practice their face-to-face art form as it’s intended: face to face. Most of us will have been vaccinated by mid-May, and the library’s Community Room has been fitted with comprehensive air purifiers, making it safe for our modest-sized group to meet indoors (masked and carefully distanced) in person. We will be “hybrid,” gathering in the Community Room and also, for those unable to come to the library, on Zoom. Our theme for the month is FOREST. Stories in or about forests, forests past or present, actual or mythological. So many of us have found solace in the woods during this quarantined year – but traditionally the forest is also a place to get lost, the place of life-changing encounters with strange helpers, witches and unknown knights, robbers, the Big Bad Wolf. Take us on a hike, on an adventure, into a fairy tale. Any kind of story is welcome. Come to tell a 5-minute story and/or to listen, on Monday, May 17, from 1:00-2:30 pm EDT.
Please contact Jo Radner (jradner@american.edu or 207-925-6244) to tell her that you will be coming in person or to receive the Zoom link
