All patrons and friends of the Charlotte Hobbs Memorial Library are welcome to join the Page Turners, the Library’s afternoon book discussion group.
On July 12, we will discuss Maria Edgeworth’s “Harrington” (1817), the first English novel to take up the issue of English antisemitism, written by a widely acclaimed contemporary of Jane Austen. Harrington is available in paperback but can also be downloaded at no charge in both Kindle and HTML formats from Project Gutenberg.
On August 9, we will read Maggie O’Farrell’s award-winning Hamnet: A Novel of the Plague (2020).
If you would like to attend the Page Turners meetings or want further information about the group, please contact Sue Lanser at lanser@brandeis.edu or 925-6244.
