Hobbs Story Swap will resume, after its summer break, on Monday, Sept. 20, 1:00-2:30 pm. This month we will have a special theme, “Pizzazz,” in memory of our storytelling friend JoAnne Diller, who died on May 27. “Pizzazz” was JoAnne’s utterly appropriate trail name – the moniker she was known by as she hiked on the Appalachian Trail and elsewhere.
JoAnne’s obituary in the Portland Press Herald describes her extraordinary full life: https://www.pressherald.com/2021/07/01/obituaryjoanne-stansfield-diller/. A memorial service (in-person and virtual) will be held on Saturday, Sept. 18, at 3:00 pm at the First Congregational Church in Bridgton. Please contact Jo Radner or the First Church for the virtual link.
For our swap, bring a story (and/or a memory of JoAnne) relating to anything connected with JoAnne’s multi-faceted life! Here are a few possibilities:
· ADVENTURES!
· anything related to the outdoors, hiking, skiing, snowshoeing
· biking (she did a cross-country bike trip)
· conservation, the environment
· teaching, camp counseling
· you name it! she probably did it!
PLEASE NOTE: This meeting will be online only.
All are welcome. Please come, to tell a 5-minute story or to listen, or both! For more information or to receive the zoom link, contact Jo Radner at jradner@american.edu.
