GLLT & Tin Mountain Conservatory Present: Backyard Astronomy for Winter & Throughout the Year

  • Charlotte Hobbs Memorial Library 227 Main Street Lovell, ME 04051 United States (map)

This program will give pointers on how to find celestial objects that can be seen with the naked eye with a focus on the winter nighttime sky. From the planets to galaxies, nebulas, star clusters and more there is a lot to be seen with just the eyes. We’ll give participants info on how to locate and observe some fascinating celestial objects for the upcoming month and beyond. The focus will be on viewing with the unaided eye but a telescope will also be on hand to look at Saturn and Jupiter. Then you can use the night skies as a calendar to mark our journey around the sun!
