The Charlotte Hobbs Speaker Series welcomes Matt Cost, acclaimed author of the Clay Wolfe/Port Essex and Mainely Mystery series. Cost won the Maine Humanities Council Read ME fiction book of the year for Mainely Power, the first in his Mainely Mystery series. The Maine Sunday Telegram
has said “Boston has Robert B. Parker and Maine has Matt Cost”. A history major in college, Cost has owned a mystery bookstore, a video store, and a gym, and served “ a ten year sentence” as a junior high school teacher before beginning his career as a writer. Cost now lives in Brunswick, Maine and and spends his days at the computer, writing.
