All patrons and friends of the Charlotte Hobbs Memorial Library are welcome to join Page Turners, the Library’s book discussion group.  This month our meeting will be hybrid, so those in the Lovell area can come in person to the Community Room; everyone is welcome to join on Zoom. Our chosen novel, Emma Donoghue’s gripping The Paris Express (2025), looks back at a famous train crash to give us a rich portrait of France at the turn of the twentieth century.  The session will feature a guest appearance by the author. 

Our September selection is George Saunders’s acclaimed novel, Lincoln in the Bardo, published in 2017 and winner of the Booker Prize.  Experimental in form, it’s built around Abraham Lincoln’s tragic loss of his beloved son at the age of the twelve, but it opens out to questions of life, death, grief, and reconciliation.
