Here’s how we’ll make the “gallery.” If you’d like to take part, choose a photo of yours that suggests a story, and bring photo and story to the Zoom meeting. At the beginning of our gathering we will display all of our photos, one at a time, for a virtual “gallery walk” to tickle our curiosity. Then we’ll tell the anecdotes that lie behind the photos. (This may be a popular event! Please make sure your story is under 5 minutes!)
You don’t have to tell personal or family stories, of course. Historical tales are welcome (bring your favorite photo, say, of Franklin Pierce…) or folktales (photos can certainly suggest folktales).
About the photo: If you can, please bring an actual photo and not an electronic copy to screen share – it will take less time for us to hold up our photos to our cameras than for each of us to go through the process of screen-sharing. But if you don’t have an actual “hard-copy” photo, an electronic copy is fine.
This will be the last meeting of the Hobbs Story Swap before our two-month summer hiatus. Anyone is welcome to attend, to tell and/or to listen; please contact Jo Radner at jradner@american.edu for the Zoom link.
