August 16-20 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Gardening opens a whole new world to children. They take an interest in the wonder of living things, the earth and their community. Studies show that kids who work in outdoor gardens get higher scores on science tests and make healthier choices at mealtimes.
It’s all about dirt and vegetables! Learn about the parts of plants, plant life cycles and composting with hands-on activities, songs and literature. Campers will get to harvest, prepare and eat vegetables grown on site in the library’s raised beds. Get ready to explore the underground world of soil and feed dinner to some real red wiggler worms! Space is limited - please fill out the registration form and submit to the library to reserve a space for your child.
Your child must come with a packed lunch, a water bottle, sunblock, a face mask, bug repellent (as needed) and a hat.
Recommended for ages 5-8.
