The Page Turners: The Underground Railroad

Our newly renamed book discussion group will meet to discuss Colson Whitehead’s prizewinning novel, The Underground Railroad (2016). This harrowing story of enslavement, escape, and not yet freedom is, “a shattering, powerful meditation on the history we all share.”

Coming up next month: September 16th, The House of Mirth (1905) by Edith Wharton. A novel about the social and economic constraints on women’s lives in New York at the turn of the last century.
